“ASK FOR HELP , NOT BECAUSE YOU’RE WEAK BUT BECAUSE YOU’RE STRONG”

MISSION

Helping Her is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to supporting women with children aged 0-5 by providing essential household and baby supplies. Our flagship initiative, the Mommy and Baby Pantry, serves as a vital resource for new and expectant mothers, offering a range of necessities such as feminine hygiene products, household supplies, and baby essentials including diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, pull-ups, and bottles. We base our support on direct feedback from moms who have shared that these items are crucial to their daily lives and well-being. Operated entirely on generous donations, Helping Her strives to ensure that every mother and child in need receives the support they deserve.

Adopt A MOm

The Adopt A Mom program is an initiative designed to provide comprehensive support to pregnant women in need, ensuring they and their newborns have the essentials required for the first three months of life.

Program Overview:

The Adopt A Mom program focuses on assisting expectant mothers by delivering essential supplies and personalized support during a critical period. This initiative aims to alleviate some of the challenges faced by pregnant women, especially those who are low-income or experiencing other difficulties.

Key Activities:

  1. Home Visits: Volunteers or staff members will conduct home visits to assess the needs of the expectant mothers and deliver care packages. These visits provide an opportunity to offer personalized support and address any immediate concerns or questions the mothers might have.

  2. Care Packages: Each mother will receive a comprehensive care package containing vital items for both herself and her baby. These packages include essentials such as diapers, wipes, formula, baby clothing, and other necessary items to ensure a smooth transition into motherhood.

  3. Ongoing Support: The program includes follow-up visits or check-ins to monitor the well-being of both the mother and the baby, ensuring that their needs continue to be met and providing additional assistance if necessary.

Frequency and Duration:

  • Initial Support: Each enrolled mom will meet with a doula once a month, either in person or via Zoom, leading up to delivery. There will also be monthly group sessions where moms can share their goals, needs, and feelings with one another. For those interested in breastfeeding, a lactation consultant will be available. Together, we’ll set goals for life after your baby arrives. Moms will receive a series of care packages and home visits during the first three months of their baby's life.

  • Follow-ups: Regular follow-ups will be conducted to ensure ongoing support and address any emerging needs. For example, helping navigate getting stable careers, further education and etc

Population Served:

The program specifically targets pregnant women who are in need of additional support, focusing on those from low-income backgrounds or facing challenging circumstances. The goal is to provide them with the resources and care necessary to ensure a healthier start for both mother and baby.

The Adopt A Mom program is scheduled to launch in Fall 2024. The initial phase will involve a pilot program to fine-tune the approach and gather feedback. Based on the results and available resources, the program will gradually expand to support a larger number of mothers.
